At a recent gathering in Bengaluru, Vidya Balan had the audience laughing with her funny stories. She mentioned how her comedic posts on social media have been well-received, even during a break she took. The actress expressed her love for comedy and shared her desire to do more comedic roles, feeling that there is a lack of such opportunities for actresses in current cinema.
During the event, Vidya discussed her passion for acting and how it allows her to immerse herself in the lives of diverse women. She emphasized her curiosity about people and her enjoyment in portraying different characters authentically.
Vidya also highlighted her process of preparation for each role, expressing her fascination with understanding the motivations and emotions of the characters she plays. She finds it rewarding to delve into the complexities of human life through the unique stories of each character.
Additionally, Vidya touched upon the common struggle of feeling inadequate and emphasized that body size should not define one's self-worth.I have struggled with body image issues since childhood due to being larger in size. However, watching The Dirty Picture has shown me that body size shouldn't dictate how we feel about ourselves. This realization was empowering, shifting my perspective not only as an actor but as an individual. It made me appreciate my body as the vessel that sustains me. My sister Priya serves as a great inspiration to me. She exudes confidence and comfort in her own skin, qualities I deeply admire and confide in. I believe that as women, we excel in acting as we are adept at seamlessly juggling various roles in our lives every day. Our ability to tap into different aspects of ourselves allows us to authentically portray diverse characters on screen. In terms of the impact of movies on society, I agree with Javed Akhtar Saab's perspective - films are often inspired by real-life events rather than the other way around. While cinema is sometimes viewed as the moral compass of society, it ultimately reflects only a small fraction of the population's views.
